Event Review: Santa Rosa Toy Con

Toy hunters and collectors know that these smaller toy cons are where you are going to score your best deals on vintage and hard-to-find toys! And the Santa Rosa Toy Con did not disappoint! I attended the con with my friends from the Cobra 1st Legion (https://www.facebook.com/groups/cobra1stlegion/) and the Mandalorian Mercs Costume Club (Teren Clan). We spent the day trooping, interacting with guests, and of course, hunting down those elusive art prints and toys! 


These toy cons are the best places to wheel-and-deal with vendors, who often are already selling their merchandise at below retail pricing. Without resorting to eBay or Amazon.com, where else was I going to find a Sideshow Collectible 2007 San Diego Comic Con Exclusive figure of Darth Sidious with Mechno-chair for $45?! That’s right, at the Santa Rosa Toy Con! A mint item, in it’s original box, going for $45-135 online, and James and I got it for $45 in cash, no shipping fees.

If you’re serious about finding those old toys that you never got as a child, or simply want to express your love for your fandom (trust me, it’s ok, being a nerd is socially acceptable now!), make sure to check out this convention the next time it comes around.

    Try to think of ways in which your child may use it and test to see if the toy will fall apart. You can also test all toy gifts since they were not given with the intention to harm the child. It is better to be safe than sorry.teddyway
