Now the Magisterium awaits him. It's a place that's both sensational and sinister, with dark ties to his past and a twisty path to his future.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite memory is spending time with family and when my grandpa would come down every year and help open presents!! :)
ReplyDeleteI think my favorite memory is making homemade candy every Christmas. My Dad died when I was 14, but before he did, we would both help her. We would grind nuts and unwrap caramels. Or, we would roll the fillings in to balls so they were ready for her to dip. It was a whole production. By the end, we wouldn't even want to eat the candy, so we always ended up giving most of it away.
ReplyDeleteEvery year my Mom says she isn't going to make it, and every year she still does. There are a few new varieties and she's stopped making a few, too. There are trays and trays, and these days, all her kids have moved out and she does it all by herself. She still gives most of it away. But it wouldn't be Christmas without it.
My favourite Christmas memory is from when my sister was born many years ago, on Christmas.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas Tradition is a Christmas-Eve Dinner. Since I was a small child we have had Fondue which consists on beef cut into small pieces and everyone gets their own small bowl of meat to cook in the pot. Dinner usually takes about 3 hours because you have to cook each piece of meat one piece at a time. The funniest thing is that if your meat falls off your fork in the pot you have to kiss everyone at the table of the opposite sex on the check. My family has been doing this since I was a child and I am 50 years old. I have 4 siblings and including their kids and the grandchildren it can be quit the night, but we all love it. I think it is the best quality time we all spend together all year. We talk and laugh and the spirit of Christmas really comes alive not to mention the love of being with family. After dinner we open one present each, one person at a time. We have a large family and the night is can be very long. After the present opening we go to Midnight mass together. That is our Christmas Tradition.
