Toronto, ON (May 3, 2018) -- The 2017 edition of Buffer Festival premiered more than 90 films to an audience of more than 7,000, with an online presence of over 200 Million, thanks to the support of their partners. Today, Buffer Festival is delighted to announce Samsung Canada and LaCie as Grand Patrons of Buffer Festival 2018.
As Scott Benzie, CEO of Buffer Festival explains: “We have identified a few companies that really support the Creator community in meaningful ways. We developed The Grand Patron program to recognize these corporations who have demonstrated their willingness to put resources into the hands of the Creators who are driving their messaging, and there are no better examples of this than Samsung Canada and LaCie.”
Samsung Canada and Buffer Festival are launching a program that will give Creators the opportunity to bring their creativity to new heights thanks to planned mentorship, the latest mobile technology, and exposure to new audiences. Over the next year a number of filmmakers will be brought into the program to see their projects screened at Buffer Festival Initiatives and at the Samsung Experience Store in Toronto Eaton Centre.
”We are proud to share the power of our innovative mobile technology with the creative community in Canada to help capture and bring their stories to life for Samsung and Buffer Festival fans.” Said Philippe Lozier, Vice President, Content & Services, Samsung Canada.
LaCie has been a leader in supporting content creators and their projects across platforms since its inception. From the workflow to the shoot, post-production, to backing up and delivering, LaCie’s products are aiding filmmakers every step of the way. LaCie will be joining Buffer Festival across many content platforms, including Buffer Festival’s first Insight Series in Los Angeles. This forum will debut LaCie’s newest initiative, Collective. Collective is an online community built by LaCie to support filmmakers and creative professionals through peer-to-peer content, experiences, networking, and enablement opportunities.
"Supporting the Buffer platform is a natural extension of Collective," said Jeff Fochtman, Vice President of Marketing, Seagate Technology. "With Collective's mission to support creators and provide a platform for the ongoing exchange of knowledge and mentorship, Buffer helps us further engage the creative community."
Buffer Festival’s Insight Series will be held on Thursday, May 17 from 12:30pm - 5:00pm. The sessions will be at the historic Ricardo Montalban Theatre in Hollywood, CA. For more information visit www.bufferfestival.com.
