Christina Mandelski was born in South Florida, where her love of reading was cultivated in a house full of books. Stories like The Little House series, The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe, Island of the Blue Dolphins and The Secret Garden, filled her imagination and fueled her dreams to be a writer. That dream came true when her first young adult novel, THE SWEETEST THING, was published in 2011, and she’s beyond thrilled about her upcoming series for Entangled Crush. 1. RANDOM MOVIE REFERENCES

I love movies and in this book main character Bailey is a filmmaker and a total movie buff. She and her friend Alex are slowly working their way down a list of top teen movies, watching them late night at his house. It’s amazing how many of them involve going to prom.

2. ENTERTAINING SIDEKICKS

They’re essential. From Bailey’s oddball boss at the coffee shop to her octogenarian co-worker at the grocery store to Alex’s long-suffering housekeeper, to his best friend Eli, these characters keep the humor coming and our lovers on their toes.

3. WEIRD PART-TIME JOBS

In my mind, the part-time job is a hallmark of high school, maybe because I had quite a few, and they left me with plenty of strange anecdotes and memories.

4. BOYS IN LACROSSE GEAR

Yes, please. *faints*

5. EPICALLY HILARIOUS PROMPOSALS

I’m a bit too old to have been a part of the promposal generation, but if you’ve ever spent time on YouTube watching the endless clips of creative prom asks, you’re missing out. Love and Other Secrets features several that (I hope) will leave readers laughing.

6. A CLOSET FULL OF VINTAGE GOWNS

Yes, there is one in this book. Hidden away in the Blue Room of Alex’s family estate, are racks of vintage couture gowns that belonged to his grandmother. And yes, we get to go inside and try some one. Some of my favorite scenes from movies are dressing room montages – I had to throw one in!

7. LOTS OF FOOD

Bailey and Alex might not have a ton in common, but they both love to eat. From Alex’s housekeeper’s comfort food offerings to the food Bailey’s mom makes to correspond with their family movies nights (coq au vin, anyone?), these two can put it away. 

8. GLITTER

As Alex proclaims while planning the promposal, “glitter makes everything better.” Truer words have never been spoken.

9. NEAR KISSES

“We’re so close we could kiss.” Ah, the near-kiss. So breathless, so filled with sexual tension. SO swoon-worthy! Will they? Won’t they? 

10. ACTUAL KISSES

Any romance novel with it’s salt has at least one explosive, chemically charged and memorable kiss, and *spoiler alert* when it finally happens in Love and Other Secrets, everything changes….

Star lacrosse player Alex “Kov” Koviak has it all. Or so everyone thinks. He’s real good at pretending his life is perfect...until he meets Bailey. The girl challenges him and pushes him and makes him laugh like he’s never laughed before. Their friendship is their little secret, and he’s happy to keep her to himself.
